I had hoped to use a doula for my baby six weeks ago. However, I was only in hard labor 20 minutes, and then baby was born in my hallway instead of at the hospital. I had called the doula, but she didn’t get there until about eight minutes after the baby was born. She was really helpful aftwerwards though, so I would definitely use her again. I don’t live near Pittsburgh.

i used a certified DONA doula for my first child’s birth. she was wonderful, but unfortunately the birth ended up an unexpected c-section. i plan on using a friend who is considering becoming a doula as a birth assistant for the birth of my second child next year. i would love to win the ina may book! unfortunately i don’t live in the pittsburgh area though.

I sort of used a doula, my friend who is studying to be a midwife in Oregon acted as my doula for my birth at The Midwife Center. I couldn’t have done it without her though, and would definitely use a doula in the future if she can’t be here. I’m really interested in becoming a doula and hope to in the future, if I can just find some time!

I’d love to win so I could give the class prize to my friend who is expecting in January

I used a doula with both births and would love to become one myself. Unfortunately, I work full time, so my schedule doesn’t really allow for it.

I would love to win the book. I do not live in our area to qualify for both. I have heard a lot of good things about the book.

My mom was a lay midwife and someday I would love to take my RN license a step further and become a CNM.. we’ll see! I think a doula is great, excellent posts. However I have my mom and another midwife as well as my husband so I don’t think I would need one. =)
