I started selling Larrivo Maternity & Nursingwear when I first started my business. I contacted the owner, Loretta, and she was very helpful and informative to me getting started with my store. Last year, I had the opportunity to meet Loretta in
person and we have quickly become friends and business collaborators! I helped her to coordinate a photoshoot for her line and she helped me to get my wholesale business off the ground with tips and advice from a pro!
I love the Larrivo line because it contains items for moms who are pregnant and breastfeeding and it is designed to make you feel super special! Her items are sexy and flattering and can be worn for daywear or sleepwear! The Emily style is her most well-known piece and comes in a cami, tunic and chemise dress. And with her patented bra technology, these pieces are designed to be worn without a nursing bra! They have superb support and look flattering on many different body styles!
When you pair the them with her beautiful Dakota Pants (which have a drawstring waist and are also perfect for both during and after pregnancy!) and Ella Jacket you have a very cute going out ensemble which is also comfy enough to lounge around the house in! And mom’s love these items. They are comfortable, they give great support and they truly flatter many body styles. Whether you wear them to bed or out on the town, you will love the Larrivo line! And wait until you see the new items for Spring 2010 from Larrivo! I am in Los Angeles right now and got a sneak peak myself and I can’t wait to show them to you!! You’ll have to stay tuned to our Boutique Store for info on those items in the upcoming months.
As part of our Blogiversary Celebration, Loretta from Larrivo has offered to give away an Emily Tunic or Emily Chemise Dress in either the Skye or Madison’s Garden color to TWO lucky moms! That’s right – you choose if you want the tunic or the dress and TWO of you will get to make this lucky choice!!

Nursing Top Styles: Pull Down With Under Layer

The pull down nursing top is probably one of my personal favorite types of nursing opening styles. You may even be doing the ‘pull down’ with a loose fitting top that you already have. So what is so great about a pull down nursing top? It’s simple you just pull down the side you need to nurse from. The wonderful part about a under layer is that there is a extra piece of fabric left after you have exposed the opening that will cover the top of your breast. This allows for more comfort and discretion for those hesitant about nursing in public.
Nursing Top Styles: Pull Aside

The pull aside nursing opening is a great option. You will simply pull the top layer of fabric back to reveal a large opening in order to nurse. What is great about this is you can keep a baby in a sling and still nurse her and no one knows you are! Also you still have a layer of fabric covering all of your post baby glory.

If you have ever cruised a store that sells nursing clothing, there is one thing that you may have felt overwhelmed at the least. So besides looking for your size, what else should you be looking at?
How about the nursing opening style!
So are you asking yourself “What is the nursing opening style?”. The nursing opening style is how the shirt is opened in order to nurse your little one. There are many styles and you may need to try more than one to find which is the one you prefer.
Some of the most familiar styles are
- Lift from Bottom
- Lift from Empire Waist
- Drop Cup
- Pull Down
Join us over the next few days as we explore the different styles of nursing openings and the pros and cons of each style.
