Blogiversary Celebration – Melinda G Nursing Bras – CLOSED

I discovered Melinda G because my friend Amy recommended them to me. Amy has had 4 kids and breastfed each one for 1.5 to 2 years – so when it came to nursing bras, she had a lot of experience! When she told me about how wonderful the Melinda G bras were, I immediately checked them out and added them to my store. I contacted Melinda and she was super nice to work with and she made adding a line of bras to my store so easy! I can’t tell you how happy I am that I found this line!
My absolute favorite nursing bra of all time is the
Melinda G Tee-Shirt Underwire Nursing Bra. This bra is fantastic for a number of reasons.
1) It is an underwire bra that accommodates a large bust.
2) It has a padded underwire, making it the most comfortable underwire bra I have ever worn.
3) It has 3 nursing clips, so you can adjust your cup size to fit your breasts – if they are fuller in the AM vs. the PM or at 3 months post-partum vs 8 months post-partum – this bra will continue to fit you.
But don’t take my word for it, visit our Boutique Store and check out all of the great customer testimonials about this bra. There are lots of moms who love it as much as I do! This bra is so fantastic – my mother (who clearly is not nursing) is wearing this bra!
In addition to a number of fantastic bras, Melinda G also makes a pretty fantastic nursing camisole! This cami is called the Cami Sutra and it is brand new! I have to be honest – originally I had no intention of stocking it in my store. So Melinda sent me one to try out and I am a true convert! I now have them on order for my store (they will be in stock in a few weeks!). Let me tell you why I love this cami so much and what sets it apart from other nursing camis/tanks that are available.
- This cami has a FULL BRA inside. Not a shelf bra, but the same bra that is in Melinda G’s best selling Tee-Shirt Soft-Cup Nursing Bra – so you will get excellent support and won’t need to wear another bra underneath of it.
- This cami looks like a tank top, not an undershirt or bra – so you will feel comfortable wearing it as a shirt.
- This cami has an adjustable back closure to the bra inside of it – so you can adjust the fit of the bra to fit your body – independent of how the cami fits you as a top!
- This cami will fit you when you are pregnant and when you are nursing – so you can keep wearing it for breastfeeding after the baby arrives!
- And most important to me – this cami fits like a shirt – it isn’t too tight – so it looks great on everyone – you don’t have to be super thin or have a flat stomach to look great in this one! Just take a look at the photo of me in it. I never wear tanks or camis because they always accentuate my “rolls” at my mid-riff, but I love the way this one looks on me! And the support is AWESOME as well!
As part of our Blogiversary Celebration, Melinda G has offered to give away one of her brand new Cami Sutra Nursing Camis to one lucky Mommy News & Views reader!
To be entered into this contest please leave a comment on this post which tells us what your ideal nursing tank/cami would be and why you think this one is one that you would like – This is MANDATORY in order to be considered for a prize.

Blogiversary Celebration: Bravado Designs Nursing Bras – CLOSED
October 5, 2009 by Mommy News
I just received two samples of the brand new designs from Bravado! Designs and all I can say is WOW!! These bras are fantastic!! Bravado has done it once again! They have taken their bra manufacturing expertise and have created EXACTLY what every nursing moms wants – a PRETTY bra that give great support and one that comes in larger cup sizes! Until now, moms have been restricted to ugly bras or super expensive bras if they wanted something in a larger cup size – but Bravado has changed all of that!

The Sublime Nursing Bra: Having a baby doesn’t mean sacrificing gorgeous lingerie. Bravado Designs is proud to introduce the Sublime Nursing Bra: the perfect solution for you to feel fabulously feminine and wonderfully comfortable while pregnant and nursing. How Sublime! It comes in French Vanilla or Black Cherry colors and sizes from 32-38 B-I. YUP you heard that right – this bra is available in UP TO an I-cup!! So having a large bust now means you can have beautiful undergarments beautiful too!! HOORAY!
Bravado has also designed this bra using their unique fit which allows for two different cup sizes to wear the same bra. This means, that if you purchase this bra while you are pregnant and you go up a cup size when your milk comes in – IT WILL STILL FIT YOU! Now, I am a 36D, so Bravado sent me this bra is size 36D/E. I was a little skeptical as to how it would fit – since I was on the small end of the spectrum it was designed for. Well – as you can see for yourself – it fit me fabulously! And I can pull on the cup and “feel” the stretch that would allow someone who is a 36DD/E to fit into the same bra that I have on in this photo.
The Allure Underwire Nursing Bra: A revolution in underwire nursing bra design, the Allure Underwire Nursing Bra combines Bravado! Designs’ expertise in innovative bra development with our extensive knowledge of your need for good breast health and comfort, to create a bra that you will love and feel fabulous wearing. This is Bravado’s first ever underwire nursing bra. They recommend it for moms who have already been nursing for at least two months. It also uses their unique fit technology that allows one size to fit two different cup sizes.
So again, I was sent a 36D/E and again I was skeptical. I can see a non-underwire bra fitting multiple cup sizes, but never before have I seen an underwire bra that does. Well – to my surprise – this bra fit me perfectly! It felt great – gave great separation and lift and while it has a molded cup design – it does not have a lot of padding. This is a SUPERB bra for the mom who is used to underwire and wants to add a little luxury to her lingerie without adding padding. This bra comes in black and ivory and and truly is delectable! This photo shows me wearing it and as you can see – it looks (and feels) fantastic! The Allure Bra comes in sizes 32-38 B-G.
I have always been a fan of Bravado Nursing Bras. When they introduced the Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra about 1.5 years ago, I was instantly a fan of that one (and so were a ton of moms who purchased it in my boutique) – and now with the introduction of these two bras – Bravado has definitely out-done themselves again! And each of these bras has matching panties that can be purchased along with them – so you can look great, feel great and nurse your baby with extreme comfort and ease!
As part of our Blogiversary Celebration, the great folks at Bravado! Designs have offered to give away a bra and panty set to one lucky Mommy News & Views Reader. The winner will have their choice of Allure or Sublime and will receive both a bra and panty in their choice of size/color.

Help! How Do I Get A Nursing Bra That Fits??
August 4, 2009 by Mommy News
Filed under Nursing Bras Fit & Advice
I have measured myself and I wear a 34C nursing bra. I purchased a new nursing bra in a 34C. It was too tight in the band, but fit well in the cups. So I ordered the next size up (36C). This one fits great in the band, but it is too big in the cups! Should I just pick a different style bra?
Bra sizing can be very confusing because a 34C and 36C are not the same cup size. Once you know your measurements and what size you should be, then you will have to apply that knowledge to the different fit of each nursing bra. We try to give fit advice for each nursing bra in our boutique. So if you read the descriptions, it will tell you how to get the best fit once you know what your size is supposed to be. Some bras run small in the band or large in the cup or some combination of both. The most important thing is knowing “what you should be” and then using the bra descriptions to figure out what size you should order for that particular bra.
With bra sizing, every time you go up a band-size, your cup size also increases by one cup size.
So a 36C is actually one cup size larger than a 34C. If your pre-pregnancy size is 34B and your size after your baby comes is a 36D, then you have actually gone up THREE cup sizes, not two! It can be confusing – so the best thing to do is just keep in mind that if you increase your band size, you should take a corresponding decrease in your cup size to maintain the same cup size.
In the question submitted here, the bra fits in the cup (34C) but is too snug in the band. There are two options to get a good fit with this bra.
1) Order the bra in a 36B. This will give you one band-size larger – giving a great fit around, while maintaining the same cup size that you had with the 34C.
2) You can keep the 34C and get a bra extender to make the band a little bit wider.
Have you ever ordered three bras and wore a different size in each one? Please share your stories on how you got a great fitting nursing bra!!
SPECIAL: As part of our Breastfeeding Week Celebration, place an order for any three nursing bras and receive a FREE Nursing Bra Washing Cube. Just enter code ‘CUBE‘ at checkout. This offer is available TODAY only (August 4, 2009).
How Do I Know What Size Nursing Bra To Get?
July 28, 2009 by Mommy News
Filed under Nursing Bras Fit & Advice
I am currently pregnant and would like to purchase some nursing bras. My current bras don’t fit me well anymore, but I still have 6 weeks before my baby arrives. What size nursing bra should I purchase?
You should always purchase a bra that is going to fit you now. If your current bras aren’t fitting, then it is time to get a new one. If you don’t know what size you are, then you should get measured or measure yourself to find out what size you should be wearing now. Many women will go up one full cup size after the baby arrives and their milk comes in. Unfortunately, there is no way to predict exactly how much your breasts will change size once the baby arrives. What I generally recommend is that moms get a bra that is comfortable now, but will give them “room to grow” for after the baby arrives. There are two bras that are really great for this:
1) The Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra: This bra doesn’t have specific cup sizes but instead is sized S, M, L, XL. It is designed to stretch to accommodate your changing body. So even if your breasts go up one or more cup sizes, this bra will still fit you. It will also continue to fit you after your milk comes in and your breasts change size in the AM vs the PM or during the first few months post-partum vs when your baby is approaching his/her first birthday and not nursing as much anymore. In addition to this “stretch-a-bility” I also love this bra because it gives FANTASTIC support. It has “ribbing” that goes under the bust and up the side of each breast which gives the same support/lift/separation you would get with an underwire – without an underwire! It also has removable padding – so if you don’t like it, you can take it out. And – it fits cup sizes B-DDD(F) – so will accommodate almost everyone!!
2) The Tee-Shirt Underwire Nursing Bra: This bra is great too – especially for those of you who like underwires. This bra has a padded underwire so that it fits gently under your breasts and gives fabulous support without digging into you. It also has three nursing clips – allowing you to make the cup up to one full cup-size larger to accommodate your changing breasts. This bra is so comfortable that my MOM is wearing it – and she isn’t even nursing!! It is by far the most comfortable underwire bra that I have ever worn. It comes in sizes 34-42 C-DDD(F) and will accommodate up to a G cup easily! The only downside to this bra is that it doesn’t have any padding in the cups.
If you choose one of these two bras while you are pregnant, then you will have a good start for when your baby arrives. Once the baby is born and you know exactly what size you are going to be, you can come back and try the plethora of other nursing bras that are available!
What was your favorite nursing bra? Did you purchase it before the baby was born or after? Please leave a comment and share your experiences with our readers!
